Pretty Fair Maid is an album made by Celtic Chaos and Emma Beaton, a former band member who has moved on to a professional musical career as lead singer for the Boston band Joy Kills Sorrow. Pretty Fair Maid won Emma the 2008 Canadian Folk Music Award designation of "Young Performer Of The Year". This CD takes the immense talents of Emma as a vocalist, cellist, banjo player, and arranger, combines them with the richness of Celtic Chaos's musicianship, and delivers a delightful 11-track collection of Appalachian, and Celtic songs and ballads (a cappella, voice and banjo & whole ensemble) and memorable instrumentals.

Special guests on the album include Laura Cortese (from Boston, fiddler extraordinaire) and Gillian Frame (of former Scottish supergroup, Back of the Moon).
